EPLANT-Piping V2024.1
Documentation of changes with respect V2024.0
Listed below are the most important changes of this version with respect to the
former 2024.0 one. Current version is compatible with AutoCAD from version 2006 up to 2024.
Current version is also compatible with ZWCAD from version 2020 up to 2025.
GRAPHIC MODULE
It contains the following changes with respect to the 2024.0 version:
- New Log Folders. The project has now three additional folders:
- [project]\log to store logs files generated with several commands.
- [project]\isoe\log to store logs files generated during isometric extractions.
- [project\\ple\log to store logs files generated during 2D Plans creation.
- Include EPLANT 3D Models. Now automatically detaches any XREF found. The drawing file
to be included can be selected as usual from a menu or a text file could be selected, containing
a list of files to be included automatically.
- Line / Equipment Attributes. In case the project allows to define Line and Equipment
Attributes, the Line Name and Equipment Name commands will allow to define and review their value.
Their values will be available in both Line and Equipment tables in the Data Base Module.
- New Components. Two new 3D components where created with the following COD
codes: SPY = Generic Support, NOT = Note.
- Component Note. COD=NOT. This component is used to define a Text Note in 3D Models with a
corresponding Note placed in the isometrics. Additionally, the Note could contain the path
to a Detail Drawing File to be placed in the isometric. Its position in the isometric drawing
is definded using a new button available in the Isometric Extraction dialog box, as well as,
the position of more detail drawings, if any.
- Isometric MTO. New option to generate Shop/Field MTO listings in the same isometric
and a new Include Pipe Cut Lenght section. Each of these three parts can have its own Header
Block.
- Export to Navisworks It will create a copy of the EPLANT-Piping 3D model changing the layers
of Equipments and Piping Components as before to Equipment Names and Line Names, but also creating three CSV
files with Piping Component data, Equipment data and Piping Line data. In case the project enables creating
Line and Equipment Attributes, it will export them as well with their names, as defined in the project.
These CSV files must be saved as XLS format using Excel.
- Automatic Notes Two new notes can be placed automatically:
1) Tag Any component having a Tag can be automatically annotated with the Tag value. In this case,
better to define the isometric symbol having the Tag attribute defined as invisible.
2) Note The 3D Note Component (COD=NOT) can be automatically annotated, placing a note with the text
associated in the Note Component.
- Isometric Writing Attributes In case the project uses the EPLANT-P&ID module or its simulation,
the table defining the Line Table fields to be written in the isometric header block can now define also
which one of the Line Attributes are to be written in the isometric header block. These attributes have to
be conform to the following syntax: P_LIN.A1 for the first Line Attribute, P_LIN.A2 for the second one, etc.
Their real names notwithstanding. The corresponding Attribute Tag in the header block can be any and has
to be declared in this table as well.
- Compact Layers There is a new command to compact Line and Equipment layers. It has
the following syntax: (pd_cmd "LY_COMPACT"). Available also from the menu PD_UTI / Line Utilities /
Line/Equipment Compact Layers.
- 3D Model Material Report New command to execute the report for multiple drawing files defined
in a text file. Available from the menu PD_UTI / Export / 3D Model Material Report: from List.
- Error Corrections
-
DATA BASE MODULE
It contains the following changes with respect to the 2024.0 version:
- System and Project Setup In General Option 2 there is a new option:
Enable Line/Equipment Attributes. Checking this option, the corresponding option will be
available in the Reference menu.
- Line / Equipment Attributes New option in the Reference top menu. This option allows to
define the Attributes Names to be associated to Piping Lines and Equipments. Current limitation: max 9
different attributes for both Lines and Equipments. The value of these attributes, loaded in the 3D
will automatically be available in both Lines and Equipment tables and could be included in Reports.
The value of these attributes are exported to Navisworks too.
- EXTERNAL System Inteface Project Piping Material can now be exported in three different formats:
Text File, CSV File or XLS File. As before, the user can define the content of each column.
- Additional Codes Its definition table has now three additional fields: EXT_CODE, EXT_DES, DES_LONG.
They could be used to automatically generate Additional Codes based on External Codes, previously loaded
in the new EXT_CODE field, using the new option Additional Code Generator in the Utilities menu.
- Additional Code Generator New option in the Utilities menu. It has three options:
1) Having previoulsy loaded External Code values in the EXT_CODE field of the Additional Code table,
it can automatically generate unique Additional Codes using the first three characters of the corresponding
External Code and adding a unique number. This option makes sense if the project makes uses of the
External Code only.
2) Same as above, but generating Additional Codes only for missing Additional Codes, that is, corresponding
to External Codes added after a previous generation.
3) Load the External Code table from the content of the External Code defined in the Additional Code table.
